So, I guess I've changed by mind about this movie since my first reaction earlier this week.
Although I didn't find much value in the movie, I still found myself thinking about it and wanting to discuss it with others. It's like an itch that I keep scratching. In some ways, it reminds me of Stanley Kubrik's
Clockwork Orange
. It may be all about adolescent male issues, but maybe there's some value in exploring that. Especially if the
characters ring true to some viewers
.
In fact, it may be exactly the idea that there are viewers who could 'easily relate to some of the characters' that I find most disturbing about this film.
