Festival Policies

Customers must present a valid ticket to gain admittance to a screening.

Bags are subject to inspection.

Seating is guaranteed until 15 minutes before the screening. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of theatre staff. There will be no further admittance 10 minutes after the start of a screening.

Customers are limited to holding space in Rush lines for a maximum of two individuals, including themselves. Please inform the Festival staff member at the Rush line if you are holding a place for another individual.

Seats inside the theatre may not be saved.

Please do not leave empty seats in the middle of the row.  Rush seating is less disruptive to the rest of the audience if empty seats are available on the aisles. Standing at the back of the auditorium or sitting in the aisle is not permitted due to the city fire code.

All customers must leave the cinema and lobby following each screening.

Film length, as listed in the schedule, represents the best available information at press time and is for your convenience only.  Length of film does not include film introductions or Q&A sessions following the screening.  Screenings and schedules are subject to change without notice.

All cellular telephones, pagers other electronic devices that may make noise or emit light must be turned off inside the theatre.

Screenings will be monitored for unauthorized recording. Recording devices are strictly prohibited. It is illegal to make a copy of a film without permission of the copyright owner. By attending a screening, you consent to a physical search of your belongings and person. TIFF reserves the right to expel anyone caught recording or photographing, to confiscate pirated material, and to report any unauthorized recording to law enforcement which may subject you to criminal and civil liability.

All Festival venues are wheelchair accessible.  Festival patrons requiring wheelchair access should contact the Festival Box Office in advance by calling 416-968-FILM or toll-free at 1-877-968-FILM.

All films have been rated by the Ontario Film Review Board. Please consult the website or the Official Film Schedule for the rating.

Our staff and volunteers are recruited to ensure the best possible Festival experience for all; TIFF will not tolerate mistreatment of its staff or volunteers of any kind and will take measures accordingly.
