Larry is an amateur taxidermist who, as the pick-up man for the local Animal Services, gets all his specimens through work. Leading a lonely existence surrounded by mounted animals, his life changes when he picks up Sammy, a wounded dog still warm with life. Featuring an arresting performance by Julian Richings, Animal Control is flush with touching humanity. MS

director bio

Kire Paputts was born in Toronto and graduated from the film programme at Ryerson University. He works as a freelance director and editor on independent and corporate videos and is co-founder of the arts collective Made By Other People. Animal Control (10) is his latest short film.
