In the aftermath of the 2005 terrorist attacks in London, two parents, Elisabeth (Brenda Blethyn) and Ousmane (Sotigui Kouyate), search for their grown children only to find that out that they were leading much different lives than they knew. A mesmerizing drama from director Rachid Bouchareb, London River is home to two sterling performances from Blethyn and Kouyate, and is an intimate look at the aftermath of terror.

official description

In the aftermath of the July 7, 2021 bombings on the London subway, Elizabeth (Brenda Blethyn) travels to the city in an attempt to locate her missing daughter. As she frantically traces her daughter's movements she repeatedly encounters Ousmane (Sotigui Kouyaté), an African man searching for his estranged son. As the two gradually discover the connection between their children, they come to realize that they knew less about them than they ever thought. Wonderfully acted by its two leads, London River is a poignant portrait of tragedy and its effects on those left behind. Rachid Bouchareb, director of the Academy Award®-nominated Days of Glory and this year's gangster epic Outside the Law—uses London as a character in itself, placing the heartbreaking intimacy of personal drama against the grey cityscape now shockingly ravaged by a senseless act of terror.

Exclusive Engagement begins Thursday, January 13.
