Out-Tweet, Outplay, Outlast Roger Ebert Takes Part in Twitter Showdown at the Toronto International Film Festival

Toronto – Renowned film critic and author Roger Ebert participates in an innovative Toronto International Film Festival panel that brings together hard-core tweeters as they face off in 140 characters or fewer.

On Saturday, September 11, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., six Twitter-savvy panelists will each respond to Ebert’s statements about the film industry. The audience will vote on who had the best Tweet per round, taking into account wit and originality.

Hosted by MTV’s Dan Levy, the panelists include:
Rainn Wilson – Actor (Super, Peep World, The Office)
David Poland – Critic, Movie City News
James Gunn - Director (Super)
Eric Kohn – Critic, indieWIRE, Screenrush
Grace Wang – Far-Flung Correspondent, RogerEbert.com
Scott Tobias – Critic, The Onion’s AV Club

The showdown will take place in the Festival’s new hub for film and industry guests – the Filmmakers’ Lounge. The Filmmakers’ Lounge will host industry panels and sessions including Doc Roundtables and Meet With... Featuring free WIFI, a Computer and Gaming Corner and music from some of the city’s most eclectic DJs, not to mention a daily Happy Hour (September 10-17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.), Filmmakers’ Lounge is a meeting and greeting spot open to all Festival delegates. 

Filmmakers’ Lounge runs from Thursday, September 9 through Saturday, September 18, from 9 a.m. until late into the night, and is located at 134 Peter Street. Catering is provided by Lolita’s Lust.
